Sustainment Operations Specialist

About the Job:
This role is focused on delivering operational excellence through sustainment leadership and coordination across logistics, engineering support functions for complex systems.
You will be responsible for managing configuration, repair, and transition activities while maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or sustainment experience and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and industry partners
* Provide sustainment leadership and advice to ensure the effective introduction, operation, and optimization of complex systems
* Manage configuration and asset control activities, including preparation for configuration control boards (CCBs)
* Oversee repair, replacement, and stocktake activities to maintain system readiness
* Investigate, resolve, and document equipment issues and performance shortfalls
* Coordinate site liaison activities and stakeholder engagement across multiple organizations
* Provide guidance and transition planning advice for in-service support activities
* Contribute to lifecycle planning, performance monitoring, and sustainment governance
* Support the review and feedback of contractor deliverables to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
* Assist with the transfer or disposal of assets and provide input into logistics transition and ERP integration activities
Requirements:
* AQF Level 6 or higher qualification in Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline
* MILIS qualifications desirable: Supply Customer Account Clerk, Warehouse Manager, Stocktake Recorder, Inventory Controller
* Current or eligible security clearance (NV1 or above)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), supply chain management, or Defence sustainment roles
* Proven ability to work independently and under broad direction with diverse stakeholders
* Experience in Defence or complex engineering sustainment environments
* Proficiency in Configuration Management (CMT-L) and inventory systems
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes
* Analytical ability to identify, manage, and resolve sustainment and performance issues
