The Role
As the APS 6 Governance Officer, you will be part of the Defence People Group Head Quarters (DPGHQ) Governance, Business and Work, Health & Safety team that supports the broader DPG in the delivery and coordination of Governance, Business and Work, Health & Safety (WHS) functions.
The Governance Officer will work closely with the Director DPGHQ Governance and will exercise a level of autonomy and accountability in the delivery of governance and business outcomes, contributing to Group coordination and supporting informed decision making through governance, finance, WHS and business management activities.
You will be responsible for a broad range of activities including, but not limited to the following:
* Provision of support to the Assistant Director DPGHQ Governance to coordinate input for Enterprise reporting such as Corporate Plan, Annual report, Portfolio Budget Statements, Audit Management and Risk Management.
* Provide support to the Assistant Director DPGHQ WHS Management to coordinate tri-annual DPG Safety Board meetings, Sentinel and DPGSafe reviews.
* Provide support in oversight for Group risk, audit, WHS, finance and governance functions.
* Provide other support to the Assistant Directors for DPGHQ Governance and WHS Management.
About our Team
The Defence People Group Head Quarters (DPGHQ) Governance, Business and Work, Health & Safety team is a small dynamic team responsible for supporting DPG across two 3 Star / Band 3 Offices and eight Commands and Divisions. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to whole of Group governance, business and WHS support. The successful applicant will also be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills and awareness of business operations at the group level and will be provided valuable professional development opportunities as they arise.

* Willingness to show initiative to resolve problems to progress work to meet business objectives.
* Ability to build productive working relationships with stakeholders and coordinate business activities in support of divisional outcomes.
* Experience in Enterprise reporting such as Corporate Plan, Annual report, Portfolio Budget Statements, Audit Management and Risk Management will be highly regarded.
