ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking an experienced professional and inspiring leader to manage Council's People and Culture section. Reporting to the Director Corporate and Community, you will lead and manage the People and Culture section to provide quality services in all aspects of organisation development, employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, workforce planning, payroll administration and work health and safety and injury management.
To be successful you will bring
1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management and/or related specialised discipline such as industrial relations, work health and safety, organisational development/behaviour.
2. Demonstrated capacity to align management practices to the Ballina Shire Council corporate values.
3. Demonstrated extensive experience and ability to lead and manage the operations and delivery of functions for the People and Culture Section.
4. Proven strong interpersonal skills to positively build effective working relationships, drive engagement, motivate staff and influence culture.
5. Demonstrated sound knowledge of contemporary human resource and work health and safety practices.
6. Proven experience in providing operational and strategic human resource advice to support senior management and deliver strategic organisational change programs.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations and industrial relations matters including strong negotiation, conflict resolution, communication and report writing skills.
8. Demonstrated track record of driving a culture of excellence in customer service and continual improvement.
The rewards
9. An annual salary of up to $145,000 per annum (plus 11% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
10. A leaseback vehicle for work and private use is also available in accordance with Council’s Light Motor Vehicle Policy. A leaseback vehicle for work and private use in accordance with Council’s Light Motor Vehicle Policy, with additional fuel radius allocation for private use of the vehicle
11. Support toward the cost of relocation associated with recruitment.
12. 19 day month flexible work arrangement.
13. Additional three days of special leave over Christmas/ New Year period.
