Freelance Graphic Designer – Product & Merchandise (Licensed Brands)
Remote | Part-time (~1–2 days/week) | Ongoing Contract | Hourly Rate
Plan B Unlimited | Melbourne, Australia
Plan B Unlimited has spent the better part of a decade doing something most businesses only dream about, turning the world\'s most iconic brands into products people genuinely love. From gaming and toys to sports and lifestyle, we design and manufacture licensed consumer products that land on shelves across Australia and beyond.
We move fast, we think big, and we back creative people who do the same. This isn\'t a business where ideas go to die in committee. We champion creativity and innovation at every level. If you have a better way of doing something, we want to hear it.
We\'re not just looking for someone to fill a brief. We\'re looking for a creative who is passionate about their craft, hungry to grow, and excited by the idea of building something alongside us. The designers who thrive here are the ones who care deeply about their work, and who see every product as an opportunity to do something worth being proud of.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
We work with some of the most iconic brands on the planet — Minecraft, Fortnite, Sonic, Pac‐Man, Spongebob, as well as many more — and we bring them to life across consumer products sold through major Australian retailers.
We\'re looking for a freelance graphic designer who is, first and foremost, a creative. Someone with a genuine eye for colour, layout, composition, and style — who gets excited about making a product look incredible, not just functional.
WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING
You\'ll be designing licensed product graphics across our gaming accessories range — bean bags, gaming chairs, mousepads, desk mats, and more.
We work in batches, so you\'ll receive a range brief, along with all licensed assets, character art, and brand style guides. Your job is to turn these into visually striking, on‐brand designs that fans and retailers love.
Deliverables per product include (not limited to):
WHAT WE\'RE LOOKING FOR
* Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop — non-negotiable
* A genuine artistic eye — colour, pattern, layout, composition, style
* Experience working within brand style guides and licensed IP
* Background in product design, merchandise, or retail artwork — highly regarded
* Self‐directed and reliable working async with an Australian-based team
* Portfolio that genuinely excites us — experience matters less than talent
HOW IT WORKS
This is an hourly rate engagement on an ongoing basis. You\'ll be briefed in batches, track your hours per project, and invoice fortnightly based on hours worked. We\'re flexible on time zones and working hours — we care about the output, not the clock.
Expected hours: approximately 8–16 hours per week, varying with project load. All hours must be logged and submitted with each invoice.
HOW TO APPLY
Send us:
* A link to your portfolio (Behance, Dribbble, or similar)
* A brief note on your experience with licensed or branded product design
Let your work speak for itself.
