Position Information
Homebush Boys High School is a comprehensive boy's high school (enrolment of 930 students), with a proud tradition of strong academic achievement and excellence in the fields of sport, the creative arts and many extracurricular activities. We are highly multicultural in nature with over 90% of students with a language background other than English. We have a focus on maximising student learning outcomes with a continuing commitment to literacy and numeracy. Our school staff is experienced and committed to engaging boys in meaningful learning experiences. We advocate safety, learning and respect in alignment with the values of the Positive Behaviour for Learning program. The school has a strong reputation in the community and continues to build educational networks to further the opportunities for students. * Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
* Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
* Demonstrated expertise in designing, leading and delivering high impact whole school professional learning that enhances staff capacity to foster continuous improvement.
* Exemplary interpersonal and administrative skills to lead and monitor a newly established Teaching and Learning faculty and demonstrated experience leading and inspiring staff to maintain best practice and improve student learning outcomes across all faculties.
* Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic member of the executive team and lead evidence-based initiatives to support school targets, including explicit teaching, whole school Literacy, Numeracy, Differentiation and High Potential and Gifted Education.
* Demonstrated ability to gather and analyse data to strategically initiate, lead and evaluate whole school programs, curriculum and assessment practices that promote high expectations and achievement through a culture of learning and collaborative practice.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
