Overlooking the swimming pool at Reef View Hotel, Pool Terrace Restaurant on Hamilton Island offers Modern Australian cuisine paired with a laid back and family atmosphere catering to all ages and food lover’s needs.
An opportunity now exists for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead our front of house team and to work closely with our kitchen brigade to create memorable dining experiences for our discerning guests.
The 160 seat Pool Terrace is abuzz in the morning offering a delicious and very popular breakfast buffet, turning over tables several times.
Then reverts to a more relaxed yet busy a la carte service for lunch and dinner.

About the role
Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operation of Pool Terrace Restaurant which includes:
- Providing impeccable service to meet the expectations of our guests
- Ensuring tables are turned efficiently, buffet is well presented
- Overseeing floor service and the team ensuring it is to a professional standard, while still relaxed and intuitive
- Deal with requests, enquiries and complaints in an efficient and courteous manner, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Identify any team development needs and assist the Restaurant Manager with implementation
About You
You are a true professional and strive to excel in your career.
You are focused on a Hospitality career and are committed to working hard to achieve your goals.
You have well developed communication, negotiation and training skills and enjoy seeing your team thrive.
Friendly, well presented and spoken you have supervisory or management experience in large fast paced seated restaurants as well as a la carte.
You will also have:
- Excellent time management skills & ability to adapt & personalise guest experiences
- Strong wine knowledge
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and great problem solving skills
- Use initiative and proactive and positive attitude to assist team members to ensure operations run smoothly
