Overview
As a Flower Picker and Packer at Simply Rose Petals, you will be responsible for picking edible flowers by hand in the flower field and packing the flowers into jars and boxes in our warehouse, ready for shipment. Duties include harvesting over 50 types of flowers year-round, removing petals from flowers, placing flowers and petals into containers with a high attention to quality, and packing the flowers into shipping boxes. To be successful, you will be quality driven, physically fit, able to stand for hours at a time, and enjoy working both indoors and outdoors.
This is a year-round, ongoing position. We pack flowers 12 months of the year. When weather requires, we schedule work indoors in our heated and cooled showroom. You will never be left without work on days of rain or hot weather.

Objectives
Maintain freshness and a high level of quality when harvesting all flowers. Learn how each flower is best picked, packaged and stored as well as the different colours. Pack flowers into boxes and jars with attention to detail. Ensure orders are dispatched in a timely manner. Assist with farm maintenance such as cutting back roses and weeding.
Competencies
Experience outdoors or in a warehouse is advantageous but not essential. On-the-job training is provided. Enthusiastic and positive attitude; we are a highly motivated, small team. Able to handle edible flowers delicately without bruising the petals.
Education & Experience
This position is best suited to someone seeking long-term employment. Some experience on a farm, in a warehouse, or outdoors is beneficial but not required. On-the-job training is provided.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing at a bench. Physical fitness required for working outdoors in winter and summer. Ability to identify different colours of flowers.

Job Details
Job Type: Casual work, year-round. Pay: $30.35 per hour starting rate. Schedule: 5 to 6 hour shift, approximately 3 to 5 days per week. Location: 10km from Swan Hill, VIC 3585. You must be able to commute daily.
