Foodbank Queensland is the state’s largest hunger relief organisation, working towards a Queensland without hunger. Each week they support more than 135,000 Queenslanders experiencing food insecurity and provide breakfast to 52,000 children every school week through their network of community partners and schools
Alongside food relief, Foodbank rescues surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, reducing landfill and protecting the environment. Foodbank is focused on long-term change, partnering with communities to build fairer, more resilient local food systems. Each year, we provide 12.7 million kilograms of food and groceries, which is the equivalent of 22 million meals and 1.1 million breakfasts.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to an organisation with a strong purpose, significant scale and a growing statewide impact. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Board, you will lead the organisation through an important period of transformation, ensuring long-term sustainability while continuing to deliver meaningful outcomes for Queensland communities.
This is a role for an accomplished and values-driven executive who can combine commercial rigour with social impact leadership. You will bring the ability to lead complex operations, inspire high-performing teams, strengthen stakeholder relationships and continue to position the organisation for future growth and innovation.
Qualifications
* Proven executive leadership experience, ideally within not-for-profit, logistics, supply chain, food or community sectors
* Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience leading complex organisations
* A track record of driving strategic transformation and operational excellence
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement capability across government, corporate, philanthropic and community sectors
* Experience working effectively with Boards and strong governance expertise
* The ability to lead and inspire diverse teams within a values-driven culture
* Outstanding communication, advocacy and relationship management skills
* A genuine commitment to social impact and addressing food insecurity
