The Role
ALS Environmental Laboratory is seeking a permanent Laboratory Technician to join our established team in the role of Asbestos Identifier. This position offers the opportunity for professional growth, including accreditation and corresponding pay increases. As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to our mission of exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering accurate, high-quality results on time.
The day to day
* Preparation of and analysis of samples
* Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures
* Prioritising daily workloads
* Ensuring compliance with the laboratory’s Quality control
* Day to day Laboratory duties
* Reporting analytical results of Asbestos fibres.
* 10:15am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

The day to day
* Preparation of and analysis of samples
* Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures
* Prioritising daily workloads
* Ensuring compliance with the laboratory’s Quality control
* Day to day Laboratory duties
* Maintaining relevant documentation
* Reporting analytical results of Asbestos fibres.
* 10:15am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.
* Some weekend work is required
The essentials
* 1-2 years Laboratory experience
* Experience with Stereo, Polarised Microscope or Phase Contrast Microscope is desirable but not essential.
* Tertiary qualifications in a related area are desirable but not essential
* A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
* Dedication to good laboratory practices regarding quality of results and health and safety
* Willingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory
