Responsibilities Responsibilities: Oversees and assures the overall compliance of Microsoft’s Energy Isolation Program and establish acceptance criteria for authorizing campus Energy Isolation Plan. Implements learnings, provides consistency, and drives rigor into Microsoft’s Energy Isolation program and ensures program meets or exceeds company safety policy requirements. Utilise local code and standards as the foundation for Microsoft’s Energy Isolation program that is implemented throughout the campus. Establish with the Engineering team a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure with all campus entities and determine if a group or individual LOTO procedure will be required. Commencement of energy isolation activities with updates on a continuous basis. Liaise with Microsoft construction team where Energy Isolation activities may potentially impact data center core operations. Act in coordination with the Engineering team as a subject matter expert in all energy isolation incident investigations in area of responsibility Participate in high-risk activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with energy isolation. Ensures high-risk SOWs, SOPs and MOPs are reviewed, and all sources of energy are identified. Ensure a process is established that verifies qualifications, training, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for personnel performing the work. Generate monthly reports highlighting activities and general status of energy isolation program Qualifications Electrical trade qualification and a valid Electrical Licence. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data centre environment or similar mission-critical/industrial trade environment. Experience in electrical and mechanical isolations, including planning, execution, verification, and oversight of isolation activities. Strong understanding of LOTO procedures, electrical safe systems of work, and hazardous energy control principles. Demonstrated capability in managing electrical isolation compliance and governance, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and regulatory requirements Experience working with critical environment operational standards and industry best practices. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers and non-engineers. Ability to interpret electrical line diagrams and system redundancies to ensure isolation and LOTO controls are accurate, effective, and compliant. Practical experience in the control of hazardous energy in complex mission-critical infrastructure environments. Hands-on experience with the operation and maintenance of building MEP systems (power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, controls systems, sprinkler systems, etc.). Solid understanding of electrical theory supported by practical experience with critical electrical equipment (paralleling switchgear, UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source utility switchgear, standby generators, etc.) Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings, etc.). Experience with building management systems, automation controls, and associated frameworks. These include:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
