Key Responsibilities
The Registration Clerk will be responsible for the following key tasks:
* Appointment Scheduling: Books, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments.
* Patient Greeting: Greets patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
* Provider Schedule Management: Maintains and updates current information on providers' schedules.
* Telephone Communication: Answers telephone, screens calls, and provides information to callers as needed.
* Appointment Confirmation: Contacts patients to confirm appointments.
* Chart Preparation: Assembles patients' charts and creates charts for all new patients.
* Demographic Data Collection: Conducts personal interviews to obtain required demographic and insurance information and enters such information into the computer.
* Consent and Insurance Forms: Obtains required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
* Coverage Verification: Contacts insurers to verify coverage and assures that we are the PCP, where necessary.
* Claim Classification: Makes adjustments to the computer classification of claims to most accurately reflect the expected pay source.
* Public Inquiries: Answers inquiries of patients and the public in person or via telephone regarding regulations and services; when necessary, refers inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
* Exit Billing and Cash Collections: Performs exit billing and discusses patient's account balance with the responsible party. Responsible for daily cash collections.
* Log Maintenance: Maintains daily log of uncompensated care applications and other state and local governmental applications.
* Data Input: Inputs data into the ancillary database.
* Encounter Collections: Collects and batches daily encounters.
* Front-End Duties: Performs other front-end duties as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

* Linguistic Skills: Must be able to speak, read and write Spanish fluently.
The selected candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years or more experience in a medical office support setting; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
