About The Role
This role delivers and maintains environmental health services and programs in line with legislation, Council policies, and procedures. It ensures high-quality health services and facilities for the community, providing professional advice and health surveillance on all environmental health matters while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Salary starting from $92,321.86
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with City staff, government agencies, industry, community groups, businesses, schools and the public.
* Support the administration of the City's Environmental Health statutory obligations in line with relevant legislation.
* Ensure Environmental Health services reflect best practice and current legislative requirements.
* Investigate and enforce regulatory matters, including evidence gathering, reporting and court attendance when required.
* Provide clear written reports, verbal advice and operational support.
* Assist with the development and review of local laws, policies, plans and procedures.
* Conduct inspections and regulatory actions for licensed and permitted premises, facilities and public events.
* Support health promotion, education and community awareness activities.
* Act professionally at all times, demonstrating sound judgement, discretion, autonomy and confidentiality.
Who We Are Looking For
To be considered for this position, you will need:
* Degree in Environmental Health or a related qualification approved by the Executive Director of Public Health.
* Sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws.
* Ability to quickly learn and apply work practices, policies and procedures.
* Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in environmental health compliance, enforcement and education, with strong organisational and advisory skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with good judgement and problem‐solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Current National Police Clearance.
* Current WA "C" Class driver's licence
