The City is seeking a Community Development Officer - Grants and Funding to champion community growth through effective, transparent, and impactful funding support.
This is more than just a job — it's a chance to work alongside passionate people and help community groups and organisations achieve their vision.
About The Role
This dynamic role focuses on coordinating the City's grant funding streams, building the capacity of local community groups, and fostering strong, sustainable partnerships. You'll guide community stakeholders through every step of the funding process — from application to acquittal — while ensuring systems are efficient and inclusive.
Duties
Key Responsibilities Include
* Coordinating grant funding: Manage end-to-end processes for the City's funding streams, including project oversight and stakeholder liaison.
* Building community capacity: Equip groups and organisations with the skills, knowledge, and tools to successfully apply for and manage grants — both from the City and external providers.
* Fostering strong relationships: Engage and support community stakeholders through impactful training, workshops, and advisory sessions.
* Communicating with purpose: Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to promote funding opportunities and celebrate community success stories.
* Providing strategic support: Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, and briefings to support Council and Executive Leadership decisions.
* Developing resources: Create and maintain helpful tools — including a grants register, guidelines, and factsheets — to strengthen community confidence and self-sufficiency.
* Ensuring effective governance: Maintain policy, procedure, and systems that support robust and transparent funding administration.
Who We Are Looking For
You are a natural communicator and relationship-builder who thrives on community connection. You understand the importance of clear processes and accountability, and you're comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment. Most of all, you believe in the power of local communities to lead change — and you're ready to help them do just that.
You Bring
* Experience in grants management, community development, or a related field
* Strong project and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent communication and facilitation abilities
* A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
* A genuine passion for community empowerment
Why Join Us?
Working with the City means being part of something bigger. You'll join a dedicated team committed to meaningful outcomes, and you'll have the support and resources to turn ideas into action. If you're ready to help build resilient, connected, and empowered community — we want to hear from you.
