Business Support Manager Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Support Manager to join our team. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the achievement of operational outcomes and contributing to the delivery of biosecurity and imported food regulatory activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinating and managing end-to-end procurement processes, including preparation of approach to market documents, evaluation plans, spending proposals, and contracts (including contract variations as required)
* Managing contracts, including ensuring that contract conditions are understood by relevant parties
* Maintaining accurate records in departmental systems, and coordinating procurement audits, data analysis and reporting
* Contributing to procurement capability development across the team
* Gathering and investigating information from diverse sources contributing to the development of a range of complex written products (but not limited to) briefs, reports and emails
* Collaborating, developing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders ensuring business needs are met
* Ensuring compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, in particular the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act
* Leading and managing the performance of a small geographically dispersed team
* Supporting the Assistant Director and Director in identifying potential risks, maintaining instructional material and driving continuous improvement activities to support COBM

Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience working in a procurement function with Commonwealth procurement practices and contract management or a business-related field
* Experience in leading, managing and supporting staff (in person and virtually) to deliver required work outputs to expected standards and timeframes
* Experience in making decisions based on sound subject matter knowledge and professional judgement
* Knowledge of government panels, contracting platforms, and procurement frameworks
* Experience with Commonwealth procurement practices (desirable)
* Experience using the Technology One Enterprise Suite (desirable)
