Job Overview
The Assistant Director position involves leading examination activities, project management and investigation methodologies to ensure strategic oversight and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead examination activities at places where children and young people are deprived of their liberty.
* Prepare high-level advice, support and guidance to relevant authorities.
* Support advisory efforts directed at relevant authorities and conduct educational activities to raise awareness about the treatment of children and young people deprived of their liberty.
* Oversee and drive follow-up on practice improvement activities across organisations.
* Deliver timely expert guidance to organisations on matters concerning the prevention of torture and ill-treatment.
Requirements
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment).
Pre-employment Checks

* Pre-employment checks for arson, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
* Disciplinary action in previous employment.
* Identification check.
Desirable Requirements
A current driver's licence is desirable.
