Wild Canary is seeking a
skilled, calm, and motivated Sous Chef
to join our botanical bistro set within the beautiful Brookfield Gardens. We're a
busy breakfast and lunch venue
, we also host select private evening events and weddings.
This position is hands-on and leadership focused. You'll work closely with our
experienced and supportive Head Chef
, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly day-to-day while maintaining high standards, efficient systems, and a positive team culture.

Role Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day kitchen operations
* Run the pass during busy breakfast and lunch service
* Oversee prep systems, organisation, and consistency
* Manage ordering, stock levels, and supplier relationships
* Uphold food safety and compliance
* Train, support, and mentor the kitchen team
* Contribute to seasonal menu development
* Maintain waste management and portion control
Ideal Background
* Experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up, or a Sous Chef seeking a well-structured, quality-focused role
* Strong organisational skills and prep systems
* Positive leader with excellent communication
* Calm under pressure and committed to high standards
* Café/bistro or brunch experience highly regarded
