* Salary – MDP2, $99,707.00 to $158,523.00 + 12% Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits
* Full Time (1.0 FTE)

As per the SMOEA 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 6-12 months allocation as WCHN Advanced Trainee/Fellow Paediatric Forensic Medical Service will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

About the role

The Advanced Trainee/Fellow provides specialist paediatric forensic medical services within the Paediatric Forensic Medical Service (PFMS). Working under Consultant supervision, the role delivers clinical assessment, medico-legal support and multidisciplinary care for children and young people, while contributing to education, research and service improvement initiatives.

Key duties of the role

* Deliver paediatric forensic medical assessments and prepare medico-legal reports across inpatient and outpatient services.
* Coordinate investigations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, SAPOL, DCP and external agencies.
* Support and supervise junior medical officers, students and staff through teaching and clinical guidance.
* Contribute to research, clinical audit, peer review and continuous service improvement activities.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe, high-quality patient care.

Skills and Experience

* Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent and eligible for Medical Board of Australia registration.
* Completion of RACP Basic Paediatric Training requirements and recognised as an Advanced Trainee.
* Demonstrated experience in paediatric medicine and forensic medical assessment.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary environments.
* Proven problem‐solving, clinical decision‐making and patient‐centred care capability.
