Job Summary
This role requires a Network Engineer to design and implement network systems and architectures within the organization. The successful candidate will have expertise in network infrastructure, protocols, and security.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and transition support of network components.
* Contribute to writing detailed designs and technical instructions.
* Develop organizational capabilities for systems integration and build, including automation and continuous integration.
* Scope, review, assess, advise, amend (if necessary), plan, and implement engineering tasks as defined by project or program.
* Ensure quality documentation is generated to support the product engineering baseline.
* Assess and advise on appropriate technology solutions, including hardware, software, firmware, and vendors relevant to a task.
* Assess and advise on system architecture relevant to a task.
* Coordinate ITSM changes, including developing and/or maintaining engineering artefacts and service records through existing SMB ITSM processes.
* Assess suitability of defect remediation activities in accordance with CIOG Technical Assurance Framework.
* Deliver engineering effort to assess and rectify obsolescence within Strategic Gateway Environment (SGE).
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in information technology related field of study with a network engineering focus or equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
* Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
* Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
* Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
* Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
* Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.
* Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of LAN and WAN experience.
* Cisco routers and switches; telephony.

* WAN Optimization.
* Thorough working knowledge of Pegasus support processes as they apply to FVEY support and sustainment activities.
* Thorough working knowledge of CIOG transition processes to enable effective engagement with stakeholder support towers for progression of transition activities.
