Cassinia Environmental was awarded the Lead Delivery Partner for the Private Land Stream of the Victorian Government's $77 million BushBank Program. This Program is addressing climate change and supporting wildlife as it restores more than 20,000 hectares of land across Victoria.
Role Summary
We currently have two vacancies for Coordinators in our Conservation Operations Team.
One of the positions involves responsibility for the management of a group of properties with State biodiversity offsets, and
the other with responsibility for the management of a group of properties with Federal biodiversity offsets.
Applicants for the position managing Federal biodiversity offsets are expected to have more experience in all areas of the Key Selection Criteria. Both positions involve planning works, practical implementation on the ground, and annual reporting to the relevant authority.

Responsibilities
Planning and oversight of land management works.
Undertake labour work related to land management, including but not limited to fencing, herbicide spraying, rabbit warren fumigating, tree planting, seed collecting and direct seeding, operating machinery and equipment and assisting with repairs as needed.
Identify and report OH&S risks and incidents and follow Cassinia OH&S policies at all times.
Provide accurate, timely and relevant information on land management works to your supervisor, including use of Microsoft suite, Google applications, and mapping applications.
Prepare regular written reports to management and external stakeholders as required.
Provide training to other employees and volunteers as required.
Conduct work in a manner to uphold the core values and strategic vision of Cassinia Environmental.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in land management, including: knowledge of weed control techniques and safe use of herbicides, excellent plant identification skills in Victorian indigenous and weed species, operating and maintaining a range of handheld power tools, pest animal control, ecological monitoring; camera traps, vegetation surveys, fauna surveys
Demonstrated experience in planning land management tasks to achieve required targets
Computer skills and familiarity with use of mobile phone apps including Microsoft applications, Google Suite applications, and mapping platforms.
Well-developed communication skills including Report writing
Good level of physical fitness
Ability to work safely on your own, and at times in remote areas
Ability to work harmoniously and productively within a small team
Demonstrated understanding of OHS principles and practices
Willingness to work away from home
Manual Drivers Licence
