About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at BLK Auto Pty Ltd in Yatala, Queensland. As a key member of our Automotive Trades team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.
What you'll be doing
* Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on buses and coaches, including mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic work.
* New Vehicle Pre Delivery and Preparation
* Keeping detailed records of all work performed and parts used
* Adhering to all relevant safety standards and compliance requirements
* Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members
* Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
What we're looking for
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, with a focus on buses and coaches
* Relevant trade qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
* Extensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic procedures
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Current driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of vehicles
