Senior Cardiologist Opportunity Available
Western Sydney Local Health District invites applications from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position of Senior Cardiologist. The successful candidate will provide contemporary comprehensive specialist cardiology services throughout the hospital for optimal patient outcomes.
The Visiting Medical Officer is an essential member of the Cardiology multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and promoting patient safety and quality. Key responsibilities include delivering specialist services in a way that meets the clinical needs and requirements of the department, achieving quality patient outcomes, utilising information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning, communicating with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care, actively participating in risk management, safety and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.
Key selection criteria include Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent and eligibility to be registered with the Medical Board of Australia, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position, sound clinical knowledge in Cardiology, demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner, including holding a current or prior Senior Medical Officer position within WSLHD, high level interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team, experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice, demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision, and ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
