Job Overview:
The role of the Medium Rail Plant Operator is a hands-on position that involves operating medium-category trucks and machinery to maintain the track infrastructure.
* Loading and unloading equipment for transportation purposes.
* Taking full responsibility for the truck and plant, ensuring maintenance and servicing are completed as required.
* Participating in the replacement of rail components like track, ballasts, and fastenings, and performing general maintenance tasks.
* Maintaining compliance with safety standards.
* Assisting the team with manual labouring tasks when not operating plant and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading equipment for transportation purposes. This includes preparing and securing the equipment for safe transportation.
2. Vehicle Maintenance: Taking full responsibility for the truck and plant, ensuring maintenance and servicing are completed as required. This includes regular checks, repairs, and replacements as needed.
3. Rail Component Replacement: Participating in the replacement of rail components like track, ballasts, and fastenings. This includes collaborating with the team to plan and execute the replacement process.
4. Safety Compliance: Maintaining compliance with safety standards at all times. This includes adhering to company policies and procedures, as well as following industry regulations.
5. Team Support: Assisting the team with manual labouring tasks when not operating plant and machinery. This includes supporting the team in completing tasks and achieving goals.
