Account Manager
Industrial Automation | Engineered Solutions
Perth
This role is for people who are equally comfortable
in front of customers and inside a plant room
.
A global industrial automation business is growing its Perth team and is looking for an
Account Manager
who blends technical credibility with commercial drive. You'll manage existing customers while actively developing new business across industrial and manufacturing environments.
This is not a desk-based role and not pure business development. It's a true hybrid of
Sales Engineer and Account Manager
, suited to someone who enjoys owning relationships end-to-end.
The role
You will take responsibility for a defined territory and customer base, selling engineered automation, pneumatic and instrumentation solutions across multiple industries. You'll spend time on site with customers, understanding applications, identifying opportunities, and converting them through structured sales activity.
Alongside managing existing accounts, you'll actively hunt for new opportunities, build pipeline, and drive market share growth through specification, solution selling and disciplined follow-up.
You'll be supported by strong internal systems, product depth and technical backup, but you're expected to be
technically credible in your own right
.
What you'll be doing
You'll run planned sales calls, build and manage a healthy pipeline, and take ownership of opportunities from first conversation through to close. You'll provide technical input, demonstrations and product recommendations, and ensure customers receive practical, value-adding solutions.
You'll balance farming and hunting, developing long-term relationships while consistently creating new opportunities. Performance is measured clearly through activity, pipeline quality, win rate and revenue delivery.
Who this suits
This role suits someone with a background in
industrial automation, electrical or mechanical engineering
who has moved into technical sales or account management.
You enjoy customer interaction, are comfortable discussing applications and systems, and want a role where performance is rewarded. You're organised, commercially aware and motivated by owning your patch rather than inheriting a passive portfolio.
Background and experience
You'll bring experience selling engineered or technical products into industrial environments. Exposure to automation, pneumatics, instrumentation or control systems is highly regarded.
An engineering degree or relevant trade background is ideal, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel.
Why consider it
This is a well-structured role with clear expectations, strong earning potential and a business that invests in training, systems and long-term development.
If you want autonomy, variety, technical depth and genuine upside, this is a solid platform.
