Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical Trades Fleet, you will work closely with the Senior Diesel Mechanic and workshop team to maintain and repair Council’s fleet and plant. Your focus will be on maximising fleet availability, reducing downtime, and supporting efficient workshop operations through proactive diagnostics and continuous improvement.

About the Role
· Perform maintenance and repairs efficiently with a “fix it right the first time” and value-for-money approach.
· Maintain high reliability and uptime across all fleet and plant equipment.
· Identify and report root causes of failures to support continuous improvement.
· Maintain best-practice workshop housekeeping and organisation.
· Promote and maintain a safe workplace with a zero Lost Time Injury focus.
Skills & Experience
· Trade Certificate as a Motor Mechanic or Diesel Fitter.
· Experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing fleet, plant and small engine equipment.
· Strong technical skills including reading maintenance manuals and using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
· Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a safe workshop environment.
· Current ‘C’ Class Driver Licence and the ability to work safely in physically demanding conditions.
