An established, independently owned accounting firm with a strong presence across South East Queensland. The corporate insolvency practice is active and growing, well-regarded by the legal, banking, and corporate advisory community, and carries a healthy pipeline of appointments spanning voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships, restructuring mandates, and small business restructuring.
The Role
This is not a role where you will be handed a pile of files and left to get on with it. Working closely alongside the Managing Partner, you will be immersed in a wide range of complex corporate appointments, take on increasing responsibility as your confidence grows, and build the commercial and leadership skills needed to ultimately take an equity stake in the practice.
The timeline to equity will be clearly defined and agreed upfront. This is a structured, supported pathway for someone with the ambition to own a piece of a quality practice and the capability to earn it.
What You Will Do
* Work alongside the Managing Partner on a diverse portfolio of complex corporate insolvency appointments — voluntary administrations, CVLs, court liquidations, receiverships, and DOCAs.
* Take progressive ownership of appointments as your experience and confidence grow, with the Managing Partner's guidance and support throughout.
* Lead trading administrations and business sales, preserving value for creditors while managing complex operational risk.
* Conduct director investigations, asset tracing, and recovery actions, including ASIC reporting and insolvent trading claims.
* Contribute to restructuring and turnaround advisory, including small business restructuring appointments.
* Build and maintain relationships with the firm's referrer network — lawyers, financiers, and corporate advisors across South East Queensland.
* Contribute to the mentoring and development of more junior team members.
* Participate in business development activity, with coaching and support from the Managing Partner.
Who You Are
* Current Registered Liquidator registration (ideal but not essential).
* A minimum of 7–10 years' experience in corporate insolvency, with solid hands‐on exposure to CVLs, voluntary administrations, DOCAs, and receiverships.
* Experience in trading administrations, business sales, and director conduct investigations.
* CA qualification and current ARITA membership.
* The interpersonal skills to manage creditors, directors, legal counsel, and regulators with confidence and authority.
* Genuine ambition to build toward equity ownership and the commercial mindset to back it up.
* Based in Brisbane, Gold Coast, or Sunshine Coast or willing to relocate within South East Queensland.
What Is On Offer
* Tailored progression program with a clearly defined pathway to equity.
* Direct, hands‐on mentorship from the Managing Partner one of South East Queensland's most experienced insolvency practitioners.
* Immersion in a high‐quality, diverse corporate insolvency practice with a strong and established referral pipeline.
* The security of an established firm combined with a genuine ownership horizon.
* A collaborative, supportive culture not a sink‐or‐swim environment.
* Flexibility on location across South East Queensland.
