Job Summary
As a skilled Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for handling direct and indirect tax compliance and tax accounting for our entities.
You will work closely with business teams to provide reliable guidance and assistance on tax matters. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure accurate and thorough outcomes for stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and lodging income tax, royalty, and indirect tax returns for our entities;
* Managing payment requests and creating accounting entries that keep our financial operations running smoothly;
* Supporting and guiding through tax challenges by assisting with revenue authority compliance activities, identifying potential tax risks early, and helping prepare thoughtful tax advice on both income tax and indirect tax matters;
* Maintaining our ATO Online Services accounts to ensure everything runs smoothly;
* Fostering continuous improvement by identifying innovative process enhancements that reduce risk, increase transparency in our tax calculations, and create better outcomes for the team and business overall.
The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrate capability in:
* Collaborative working within teams and taking genuine pride in delivering high-quality work that supports business objectives;
* Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail;
* Effective relationship-building capabilities, including engaging with external partners and stakeholders to create positive professional connections that benefit the organisation;
* Skilled at managing competing priorities and balancing multiple deadlines and requirements while maintaining quality standards across all deliverables;
* A supportive team member with technical expertise who enjoys helping colleagues succeed;
* Solid professional foundation, where you bring substantial commercial, tax technical, and financial accounting experience developed through at least 2 years in a mid-sized or large corporate environment or professional services firm.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Law;
* CA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
