Senior Consultant – Finance (Business Consulting)
The opportunity
As a Senior Consultant in EY's Finance Consulting team, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of Australia's leading organisations and CFOs to help them reimagine their finance function. From designing future‐state operating models to implementing cutting‐edge technology and improving data‐driven decision‐making, you'll be at the heart of delivering strategic finance solutions.
You'll be part of a high‐performing team helping clients improve performance, efficiency, and resilience across the finance lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about problem‐solving, enjoys working in collaborative environments, and wants to make a measurable impact through finance transformation. This position is available in Meanjin (Brisbane).
Your key responsibilities
* Deliver impactful finance transformation projects by supporting assessments, process mapping, operating model design, and business case development across core finance functions such as Record‐to‐Report, FP&A, and Procure‐to‐Pay.
* Enable digital finance solutions through hands‐on involvement in system implementations and initiatives involving RPA, AI, and finance data strategy, working closely with clients, vendors, and cross‐functional EY teams.
* Engage with stakeholders and contribute to EY's growth by presenting insights and recommendations, supporting business development efforts, and participating in knowledge‐sharing and continuous learning initiatives.
Skills and attributes for success
* 3–5 years' experience in finance, consulting, or transformation roles within professional services or industry, with a strong understanding of finance processes such as P2P, R2R, FP&A, and costing.
* Hands‐on experience with finance system implementations (e.g., SAP, Microsoft, Blackline, Tagetik) and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI or other analytics tools is a plus.
* Strong analytical, communication, and time‐management skills, with the ability to work independently or in teams. One of the sectors we work with is the Australian Federal Government and as such Australian Citizenship is preferred.
Ideally, you'll also have the following skills and attributes
* A finance related degree
* Qualifications such as CA, CPA or progress toward preferred

Salary: We offer a competitive salary which is open to negotiation pending on skills and experience.
