CELOTTI WORKFORCE is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and manage WHS systems across large-scale heavy civil construction projects in Darwin.
Responsibilities:Lead and manage site-wide Work Health & Safety (WHS) systems across heavy civil construction worksDevelop, implement, and maintain Safety Management Plans (SMPs) in line with legislative and contractual requirementsEnsure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and project-specific safety standardsConduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsLead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actionsOversee safety documentation including SWMS, JHAs, permits, and registersDeliver toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety briefings to site teams and subcontractorsLiaise with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, and regulators as requiredDrive a proactive safety culture focused on risk mitigation and continuous improvement
Our Ideal Candidate:8+ years’ experience in safety management within heavy civil constructionProven experience on large-scale infrastructure or complex civil projectsStrong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance frameworksConfident communicator with the ability to influence site leadership and workforce behaviourHighly organised with strong reporting and documentation capabilityConstruction White Card (mandatory)Diploma or Degree in WHS or related discipline preferred
