Job Description
Mechanical Project Services Pty Ltd are currently looking to recruit experienced and qualified Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics to join their team in Stapylton, QLD. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
* Inspection, maintenance, repairs, and installation of equipment according to requirements including units, mounting gear and piping.
* Perform repairs and routine maintenance duties on equipment and its components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, gas, refrigerant, etc.
* Run equipment to observe and test its operation and perform any required adjustments
* Perform repairs or adjustments on piping connections, valves, couplings and fittings by riveting, bolting, welding, brazing, and soldering applying hand and power tools
* Order replacement of equipment parts as required, perform repairs as ordered, and keep record of servicing on equipment
* Carry out minor electrical maintenance work, such as repair or replacement of fixtures, including wall switches and outlets, ballast, incandescent and fluorescent tubes and bulbs, fuses, sockets, etc., by applying the right tools
* Fill up units and systems with gas required fluid checking for leaks
* Perform related duties that may be and refrigerating equipment assigned
Skills and Abilities:
* Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration trade
* At least 2 years of hands-on working experience in similar position
* Able to work in places where they are exposed to dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials, and high voltage equipment
* Capable of working in confined and hot spaces like roofs, crawl ways and attics
* Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, reaching, crouching, push/pull objects, etc.
* Ability to work with manual or power tools and operate motorized vehicles
* Strong knowledge of the methods, practices, test instruments, tools, and materials typically applied in repairing and servicing various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and other similar equipment
* Strong knowledge of the hazards involved in the occupation, and the safety precautions to take
* Strong knowledge of the repair characteristics and mechanical operation of various types of air conditioning
