About the Role
As the Head of Department- Curriculum (Instrumental Music), you will be a key leader in the South East Region Music team, building teacher capacity, modeling best practices, and optimizing learning outcomes. Your focus will be on supporting Instrumental Music (IM) teachers in curriculum implementation and delivery, ensuring quality assurance processes related to the "IM QCE" (Queensland Certificate of Education), and driving recruitment and retention efforts to create an inclusive IM program. You will also contribute to twice-yearly moderation and offer support to teachers across primary and high school levels. Applicants should be qualified for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, with experience in delivering the Queensland Instrumental Music Curriculum highly desirable, or a strong growth mindset to acquire the relevant knowledge. This role, based at the South East Regional Music Hub at Pimpama State School, and requires frequent travel across the region and includes a teaching component as part of the regional Instrumental Music team.
