About the opportunity
You will manage the enterprise-wide technology strategy and architectural governance. This role provides strategic oversight across platforms, products, and domains—ensuring that technology investments are aligned to business goals, technically sustainable, and support fast, secure, and compliant delivery.
In a Team Topologies–aligned organisation, the role does not centrally dictate design outcomes. Instead, you empower decentralised architecture through clear rules, reusable patterns, and strong technical alignment mechanisms. You will manage a small Architecture Advisory Team and partner closely with Engineering, Product, Risk, and Executive to reduce complexity, manage technical risk, and shape the future state of technology.
In this role you’ll get to…
* Manage the development and communication of the enterprise technology strategy.
* Define and maintain architectural rules, decision frameworks and guardrails.
* Chair the Architecture Advisory Forum, ensuring inclusive, transparent and risk-aware architecture outcomes.
* Manage cross-domain architecture reviews for major programs and high-impact platform outcomes.
* Coach Domain Architects and Enterprise Architects to be effective technical leaders and influencers.
* Maintain a holistic view of platform and system interdependencies across the Bank.
What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
* Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to balance long-term vision with delivery pragmatism.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across technical, business and executive domains.
* Deep expertise in architecture practices including capability modelling, solution design, integration, and governance.
* Understanding of agile, DevOps and continuous delivery models, including engineering metrics such as DORA.
* Fluency in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, security and regulatory constraints.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including Total Cost of Ownership, investment planning, and platform lifecycle management.
