About This Role
This Senior Production Engineer position ensures that all necessary materials, people, and equipment for building new products are set up in Salesforce, tracked in Celoxis, and organized on the production line. As a senior member, you will influence project direction to consider scalability from conception.
You will work closely with the project manager, purchasing, production engineers, R&D, and production manager. This role is ideal for a technically-minded individual with high attention to detail and strong capability to influence others to meet commercial needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate new products for manufacturability, recommending design changes, production processes, suppliers, and equipment to R&D for scaled manufacture.
* Support the production team by providing technical expertise to minimize production stoppages and meet targets.
* Research manufacturing processes to achieve production goals, engage suppliers, and form collaborative relationships.
* Analyze material failures, production issues, and customer returned products to determine repairs and corrective actions.
* Perform repairs on products or provide instructions for technicians to repair them.
* Drive continuous improvement and manage change in the production team by identifying systemic production issues and advising on technical process improvements.
* Implement new products into production.
* Inspect the first production batch of new or modified components or assemblies.
* Verify production jigs and equipment suitability prior to use in production.
* Train production team technicians against work instructions.
* Support the development of our Quality Systems (QA/QC) to meet Advanced Navigation's quality targets.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Systems with 10+ years of experience in a similar position and industry.
* Established professional relationships with suppliers relevant to Advanced Navigation.
* Experience in assembling and fabricating cutting-edge electronic technology products or similar.
* Able to operate equipment and learn how to operate equipment from suppliers in areas of expertise.
* Capable of upskilling quickly to develop deep technical capabilities in challenging technical domains.
* Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and debugging skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to understand complex technical concepts quickly.
* Good stakeholder management skills.
