Job Details
The ICT Operations Branch provides ICT support and infrastructure services to the department and Ministers' Offices, ensuring stable and secure technology environments. The ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section manages data centres, server hosts, virtualisation, automation, storage, backup and restore capability, and provides after-hours on-call support. The role is for a Senior Storage Engineer responsible for managing and evolving storage platforms within a large and complex ICT environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Deploy, configure, manage and tune storage systems across physical and virtual layers
* Deploy, configure and manage Storage Area Network (SAN) switches
* Contribute to future direction of storage and data platforms using emerging technologies
* Produce design, build and operations documentation
* Perform knowledge transfer and mentor junior team members
* Support storage, backup and infrastructure platform operations
Selection Criteria

Essential criteria
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the design, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of one or more of the following storage systems: HPE 3PAR, Primera, Alletra Storage Systems NetApp E-Series Dell Data Domain Brocade Fabric Switches SANnav Scality Artesca
* Ability to produce design, build and operations documents for processes and procedures.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with skilled technical people, including making presentations to staff and stakeholders and coaching staff.
* Experience / Knowledge of following technology: Veeam Backup and Replication
