Central Queensland Indigenous Development Ltd (CQID) is undergoing significant organisational growth and is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to join our expanding team.

About the Role
The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role in strengthening CQID's financial operations. This position will contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of continuous improvement financial management strategies that support CQID's long-term vision, compliance obligations, and best-practice service delivery.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Manager will oversee financial governance, compliance, reporting, and team leadership across the finance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, monitor and report on budgets for current and future funding agreements
* Ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and in line with CQID policies
* Oversee payroll processes to ensure staff wages are paid correctly, on time, and in accordance with awards and policies
* Ensure all financial compliance activities are completed within required timeframes
* Assist with external audits and preparation of annual financial statements
* Develop, maintain and continuously improve financial procedures, systems and reporting frameworks
* Coordinate and strengthen compliance, risk management and quality assurance processes
* Provide expert financial advice and guidance to managers and staff to support accountable decision-making
* Manage employment tax and salary packaging requirements
* Lead, support and develop the Finance team
* Provide professional advice and operational support to the Chief Finance Officer
* Build strong, respectful relationships with suppliers, funders, partners, community members and colleagues
* Develop and implement best-practice financial policies and procedures
* Support the Corporate Services team to maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS)
* Comply with CQID's Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
* Actively contribute to CQID's reputation and undertake additional duties as required by the General Manager Operations
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
* Postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting and/or a similar finance leadership role
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, including journals and general ledger management
* Working knowledge of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, electronic banking, BAS and payroll
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build capability within others
* Associate membership of CPA or CA (or strong intent to commence studies)
* Current 'C' Class Queensland Driver's Licence
* Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
* First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
* CPA or CA accreditation
* Experience delivering services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels

* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* High level of competence in Microsoft Office applications
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Self-motivated, proactive and capable of managing workload independently
* Physical capacity to perform the inherent requirements of the role

* Ability to learn and use computer-based accounting systems

Pay: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
