We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers Years 3-6 for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character-limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The School
Narrogin Primary School (PS) is located within the Wheatbelt South regional centre of Gnarojin, Narrogin, on Wilman Boodjar, with a population of 5,000. The Role
We are actively seeking primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. As a Years 3 to 6 primary teacher, you would establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, set high expectations and cultivate a growth mindset, while nurturing students’ social and emotional development.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate a high level of professional skill, with a strong commitment to high-performance teaching and learning. Key attributes include collaboration, flexibility, proactivity, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, and a conscientious approach to the role.
Experience with and implementation of evidence-based programs, including daily reviews in literacy and numeracy, is highly regarded. Knowledge of cognitive science, science of reading and explicit instruction will be advantageous, along with commitment to Teaching for Impact principles to support student success. Applicants should support a culture of observation and feedback for professional growth and improved outcomes. A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice is essential to support wellbeing and learning.

Mobility appointments
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. After the 3-year period, teachers may return to their substantive role or transfer permanently. Check eligibility on IKON. Note: South West teachers are not eligible to move to another South West school under this trial.
Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
