We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join the Sewer and Stormwater team. There are two (2) permanent full-time positions available with a remuneration of $2,161.08 gross per fortnight, with opportunities to progress to $2,593.30 gross per fortnight, plus superannuation. On-call and overtime work may be required based on operational needs. The role offers access to Council's nine (9) day fortnight arrangement, excellent training and development opportunities, and generous leave entitlements.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the city's sewer, stormwater, and flood mitigation systems, including tasks such as general labouring, choke clearing, service location, sewer main jetting and rodding, rehabilitation works, and stormwater pit and pipe cleaning, as well as levee bank and flood gate maintenance. Additional duties may include traffic management and plant operation.
Requirements for success include:
* Class C Driver's Licence (MR Licence preferred)
* General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card)
* Relevant labouring experience, with pipe laying and repairs highly desirable
* Strong commitment to Work, Health, and Safety
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
Applicants must be vaccinated against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Q-Fever and provide evidence of vaccination, in accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation.
