We are seeking 4 reliable labourers to join a long-term infrastructure project within stormwater maintenance and rehabilitation. This is a 2-year program of works focused on upgrading and repairing deep access shafts and manholes across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The Role You will be working within a specialised crew carrying out maintenance and repair works on existing stormwater manholes, ranging from 15m to 50m in depth. This is hands-on labouring work in a unique environment, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork. Daily operations are mobile- starting from a central yard before heading out to site for day or night shifts. Key Duties General labouring within stormwater infrastructure projects Working in deep manholes / access shafts (confined spaces) Assisting with: Cutting out and replacing step irons Removal of existing steel ladders Concrete patching and reinstatement work Application of protective coatings (CAC - hand trowelled) Working at heights using bosun's chair and harness systems Supporting crews both at the workface (below ground) and surface level Work Structure Crews of 3-4 per site: 1-2 workers within the shaft 2 workers supporting from above Temporary footings installed within shafts for stability Mix of day and night works depending on location and access Requirements Previous labouring experience (construction, civil, or concrete preferred) Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights Valid tickets: Working at Heights (WAH) Confined Space (CS) Strong commitment to safety and following procedures Ability to work as part of a close-knit crew in challenging environments Desirable Concrete or remediation experience Experience working in shafts, tunnels, or similar environments What's On Offer Long-term, stable work (2-year project) Opportunity to gain specialised infrastructure experience Consistent pipeline of work across multiple sites Supportive and safety-focused team environment If you're looking for secure, ongoing work and are comfortable working in a physically demanding and unique environment, we'd like to hear from you.
