As part of Hunter New England Local Health District, Hunter New England Imaging provides Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services to a diverse and growing community, supported by a collaborative administration team that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
In this role, you'll be part of the Greater Metropolitan Medical Imaging Administration Team, working across multiple sites in Greater Newcastle and the Lower Hunter. The team prides itself on being welcoming, inclusive, and genuinely supportive — where everyone works together to deliver a high standard of service to patients and clinical staff alike.
About The Role
Your day will be varied and fast‐paced, with a strong focus on patient interaction and coordination. You'll be the first point of contact for many patients, greeting and assisting them at reception, while also managing appointment bookings, handling phone and email enquiries, and ensuring accurate data entry. Behind the scenes, you'll liaise with radiographers, doctors, wards, and other hospitals to help ensure imaging services are delivered efficiently and on time.
You won't be doing it alone. You'll be supported by an experienced administration team, with a structured onboarding and training program to help you get up to speed. Ongoing support and development opportunities are available, ensuring you feel confident and capable in your role.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for patients at reception.
* Greet and assist patients during their visit.
* Manage appointment bookings and coordinate schedules.
* Handle phone and email enquiries from patients and staff.
* Ensure accurate data entry and maintain patient records.
* Communicate and liaise with radiographers, doctors, wards and other hospitals to coordinate imaging services.
* Support the administration team through collaborative tasks.
About You
We're looking for someone with strong customer service and administrative experience, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You should be confident communicating with a wide range of people and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment. Experience in a healthcare or medical imaging setting is highly regarded, but not essential – what matters most is your ability to provide a professional, patient‐focused service and your willingness to learn.
