Peninsula Curtains and Blinds is a proud, family-owned business that has been transforming homes on the Mornington Peninsula for over 45 years. As the local market leader in custom window furnishings, we are seeking a reliable and detail-focused person to square our curtain fabric, iron, fold and pack our curtains, assist with blind making and receipt of goods to join our production team.
Interest in fabrics and experience in handling them is an advantage. You should have accurate measurement skills and some basic math capability. We are looking for someone with the right attitude who wants to work as part of a team in a great environment.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys hands-on work – including those from non-traditional trades backgrounds or women looking to enter a workshop-based role. No experience necessary – full training provided.
About the Role
Based in our Mornington workroom, this hands-on role involves assembling a range of custom blinds using tools and machinery.
Key tasks include:
* Measuring and cutting and squaring curtain fabric
* Ironing, folding and packing completed curtains
* Receipting goods and accepting deliveries
* Performing quality control checks
* Maintaining a clean, safe work area
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Physically fit and confident with hands-on work
* Positive, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy
* Confident with measurements and manual work
* Previous experience not necessary
* Willingness to learn with on-the-job training provided
* Ability to follow clear instructions
* A team player with a can-do attitude
* Experienced in fabric handling or assembly work (advantageous)
