The Ipswich Head to Health (HTH) Centre, funded by Darling Downs and West Morton PHN, offers inclusive, low-stigma mental health services, providing assessment, triage, referrals, and immediate support. The opportunity:
Join our team at Head to Health Ipswich as a Psychologist - Mental Health Clinician. With the support of the Clinical Lead, you’ll deliver competent clinical services in accordance with the psychology Code of Ethics and the National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
* Deliver competent and evidence-based psychological services for the Head to Health service in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards. This involves actively supporting and promoting the health and wellbeing of the consumers of the service.
* Provision of competent consultation, assessment, and intervention, including group work for the Head to Health service where psychology is indicated for consumers who are triaged as having moderate level needs that affect their mental, physical, or emotional wellbeing.
* Deliver competent brief intervention therapeutic services for consumers, including the delivery of a variety of evidence-based interventions to address complex and broad ranging presentations. For example, psychoeducation, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution focused Therapy (SFT).
* Ability to advocate for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carers and relevant agencies within the Head to Health team.

About you:
Are you a professional, innovative, and caring clinician who thrives as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and enjoys working with a wide range of external stakeholders involved in providing health, mental health, and psychosocial services?
We’re also looking for:
* Tertiary qualifications in Psychology from a recognised tertiary institution which is accredited by the (APAC) and full general registration as a Psychologist with (AHPRA)
* Emerging experience working with people’s mental health and well-being, leading to the provision of, inclusive and high-quality therapeutic services, with a solution and changed based focus.
* Skills and experience in the assessment, formulation, and provision of evidence-based treatments of mental health disorders.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and developing and implementing risk management plans, including delivery of crisis intervention.
* Strong knowledge of the mental health system, government policy and legislation, and professional standards and codes of ethics as they pertain to working with people and their mental health.
