What's on offer
Eight Homes is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead our Geelong/West construction team.
Responsibilities
* Manage and mentor a team of 4–6 construction supervisors, fostering professional growth and high performance.
* Monitor and update job status in real time, adjusting forecasts and site start schedules to optimize resource allocation.
* Develop, track, and report on the regional monthly budget—including claims, settlements, and Extra to Order (ETOs)—working with supervisors to maximize build efficiency.
* Ensure all warranty and progress claims are accurately documented and processed in a timely manner.
* Build and maintain effective partnerships with suppliers and trade contractors, acting as the primary escalation point for performance, quality, or delivery issues.
* Align trade and supplier allocations with project schedules, closely monitoring performance metrics to drive consistency in build quality and efficiency.
* Liaise with supervisors to identify and resolve on-site issues swiftly, ensuring contractual obligations and building standards are upheld or surpassed.
* Minimize ETS through proactive planning, cost-effective problem solving, and close coordination with design and procurement teams.
* Review and resolve escalated client concerns quickly, maintaining a customer-first mindset and preserving brand reputation.
* Analyze client feedback and Net Promoter Scores (NPS), partnering with managers and supervisors to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Conduct final quality assurance inspections prior to client walkthroughs, ensuring every detail aligns with company standards.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess build feasibility, control costs, and recommend innovative solutions to construction challenges.
Who we are looking for
* A passionate leader with proven construction management experience in residential or commercial construction, managing multi-site operations.
* Strong financial acumen, with a track record of meeting or exceeding budget targets.
* Safety First mindset.
* Exceptional relationship-building skills with suppliers, trades, clients and internal teams.
* Proficiency in construction forecasting, scheduling tools, and claims management.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a relentless focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
