The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary Mental Health Service delivering high-quality mental health care and adhering to Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Staff Specialist – Consultant Psychiatrist:
* Provides a comprehensive general adult Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and associated facilities, including the Emergency Department (ED) and the Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSSU).
* Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with psychiatric registrars and other medical staff as required and appropriate.

Details of Appointment
This is a permanent full-time day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.
Salary
The salary range for Specialist Medical Practitioners is $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation and access to salary packaging. The Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range is subject to specific criteria.
Eligibility
Successful applicants must meet the essential criteria:
* Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.
* Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times while employed in this role.
