About the role
Shorebarge PTY LTD is seeking a dedicated Barge Crew to join our team in East Arm, NT. This full-time position is an integral part of our rail and maritime transport operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials across the region.
- Master – minimum qualifications: Master 4 <35m NC, AMSA Medical, MROCP, SSS or COST, PEC advantage
- Mate – minimum qualifications: Master 5 <24m NC, AMSA Medical, MROCP, SSS or COST and forklift ticket
- Engineer - minimum qualifications: MED 1, AMSA Medical, SSS or COST
- Deckhand/Watchkeeper - minimum qualifications: ShipBoard Safety Skill or COST, AMSA Medical, forklift ticket Master 5 advantage
What you'll be doing
- Assisting in the loading, unloading, and securing of cargo on the barge
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep the barge in optimal operating condition
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to protect yourself, your colleagues, and the environment
- Collaborating with the wider logistics team to ensure seamless operations
- Participating in regular training and upskilling to maintain and enhance your skills
What we're looking for
- Relevant experience in a similar role or the maritime/logistics industry
- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to obtain any necessary maritime qualifications

This position is based out of Darwin full time 28 days on 28 days off.
