The Opportunity
The Research Associate (Level A) will maintain and develop their scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects and contribute towards teaching and learning in the School.
This Job is based in Australia.
The Research Associate position is based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The role reports to Professor Richard Stuetz and has no direct reports.
* Salary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full time
* Fixed-term contract for 3 years
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience
* A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience in collaborating with industry stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the following research areas: Air quality and treatment; Water quality and management; Chemical and sensory odorant analysis; Data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.
* Demonstrated ability to work constructively with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent and applied research with limited supervision.
* Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
* Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Experience of and/or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students and to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
* Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
