The DMRC is one of QUT’s University Research Centres, and it is the leading Australian centre for media and communication research..What You Need To SucceedCompletion of a PhD in a relevant discipline area (e.g. communication, media studies, cultural studies).Experience researching media use behaviour, particularly using qualitative methods.Expertise about social media and hosted distribution services such as YouTube (specifically from a media studies perspective); knowledge about non-Australian media markets.Proven scholarly writing skills and experience in preparing publications for a variety of audiences, including scholarly books and/or articles in high-quality refereed journals.Proven ability to work independently to generate distinctive contributions to scholarly knowledge and/or create real world outcomes; and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a high-achieving and collegial research culture.Well-developed oral and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and research collaborators, including presentations at seminars, conferences and industry events.Life at QUTWe're Committed To Building a Culture That Fosters Connection Between People And Purpose.
