Job Overview
Electrical supervisors play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient startup of electrical systems. They are responsible for providing technical expertise, training, and support to teams working on commissioning and startup activities. This includes planning and scheduling work packages, conducting field inspections, and tracking quantities of materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of startup work packages and test work packages
* Provide technical direction to subcontractors completing commissioning & startup (CSU) activities
* Plan and schedule CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements
* Initiate requisitions for field purchases and prepare quantity take-offs of field-purchased material and equipment
* Track field purchases and other purchases required for CSU using procurement systems or other database programs
* Perform walk-downs to validate system configuration against design, monitor testing of equipment, and ensure conformance with specifications and test procedures
* Identify and resolve ES&H issues in the field, promoting safe ES&H practices
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience
* Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. (Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance for a project)
2. (Assist with the preparation of operations manuals and project administrative documents)
3. (Coordinate startup between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors)
4. (Apply technical knowledge of startup, operation, maintenance, or testing, and understand engineering systems and relevant applications)
5. (Communicate orally and in writing, planning and coordinating independent work requiring judgment and experience)
