The Mount Barker District Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Leader to manage the Information Services Team through an exciting phase of change and evolution for the Council. This key position will lead the planning, development and implementation of change in Council's key software and information services, particularly within the following teams:
· Information, Communication & Technology
· Business Systems
· Records and Information Management
Key Responsibilities
· Create, revise, deliver, monitor and report on the Council's ICT Strategy, Plan and related actions in accordance with the Council's Community Plan.
· Work within the Information Technology Operations Model to manage the ongoing improvement, effective implementation and change management of the Council's business systems.
· Develop, review and administer Information Services policies and procedures
· Manage relationships and activities associated with vendors, developers, contracts and consultants.
· Manage the lifecycle of business systems and application software.
· Identify corporate training needs of staff and contribute to development of content as required.
· Have awareness of current trends, research, modern management practices and relevant legislation in ICT and make recommendations to constantly improve services.
· Manage relevant procurement and budgets associated with position accountabilities and contribute to the annual budget preparation relevant to specific span of control that aligns with strategic and business objectives.
About you
· A minimum of 3 years' experience in management and leadership is desirable.
· Experience in managing corporate projects and programs.
· Tertiary qualification in the field of Business Management, ICT or similar.
· Experience of working in a Local Government environment is desirable.
· Previous experience with CIVICA Authority is highly desirable.
· Demonstrated ability to be collaborative, customer orientated and build strategic relationships internally and externally to further the reputation and success of Council.
· Ability to lead, inspire, mentor and empower others to achieve outcomes and make considered decisions.
· Conceptual, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
· Highly developed interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to interpret and report on data.
