Software Asset Management Analyst
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess a deep understanding of software licensing models, SAM tools, and audit processes within a complex IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Software Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software assets across our organization.

* Audit Readiness & Support: Prepare and support internal and external software audits, ensuring that we maintain a defensible position with vendors and auditors.
* Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular reconciliation of software assets in configuration management databases (CMDB), purchase records, and deployment tools to maintain up-to-date and accurate inventories.
* Vendor & Contract Management Support: Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management teams to review software contracts, EULAs, and maintenance agreements.
* Process Improvement: Develop and refine SAM processes, policies, and best practices to ensure scalability and alignment with ITIL standards.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT Security, Compliance, Procurement, and Finance teams to support software governance, risk management, and budget forecasting.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience: In-depth knowledge of software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, enterprise agreements) across major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Salesforce, etc.).
* Hands-on experience: With SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow Asset Management, or equivalent.
* Familiarity: With software audit processes and compliance reporting.
* Strong analytical skills: With the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights for optimization and compliance.
* Working knowledge: Of ITIL Asset & Configuration Management practices.
* Proficiency: In Excel and data analysis/reporting.
* Excellent communication: And stakeholder management skills.
* ITAM or SAM certifications: Highly recommended.
Qualifications:
* Experience: In healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments.
* Exposure: To cloud/SaaS software asset management.
* Familiarity: With contract review and vendor negotiations.
