About the Role:
Due to ongoing growth, Pacific Marine Group Pty Ltd (PMG) is seeking an experienced and qualified Diver to join our Dive team in Townsville, Queensland on a permanent basis.
Job responsibilities:
* Perform all allocated underwater tasks in a proficient and safe manner
* Perform mechanical, construction, repair and inspection duties using hand tools, cutting and welding equipment and hydraulic or air powered equipment
* Maintain dive logbook as per AS/NZS 2299:1:2007
* Active involvement in the mobilization and demobilization of dive projects
* Ensure all dive documentation is accurate and up to date as required by company policies and appropriate legislation
* Source and price components as part of the maintenance of the dive equipment
* Secure cables or floatation devices to objects to raise them to the surface
* Active involvement in dive equipment maintenance as agreed by the Dive Operations Manager and / or Dive Technician
* Liaise with the Dive Technician regarding repairs to equipment upon demobilization from projects
* Operate underwater equipment including video and television camera and sonar gear
* Ensure the dive department facilities, equipment and work sites are clean and maintained in a safe and tidy manner
* Carries out other underwater duties such as surveys, searches, blasting
* Report all incidents and injuries
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an individual who values working safely, within a culture focused on achieving a high standard, while meeting the needs of the client and the project.
The successful candidate will be specialised in commercial diving, wet welding. They must be able to work independently and in a team whilst complying with company and WHS requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
* Construction Industry White Card
* Current Dive Medical
Qualifications (mandatory):
* ADAS Part 3 Commercial Diving
Qualifications (Desirable)
* First Aid, CPR and 02 Certification
* Confined space and gases testing
* Nitrox Endorsed
* Current MSIC
Skills and Experience
* Minimum five (5) years as a Commercial Diver (mandatory)
* Experience in underwater construction projects highly preferred
* Experience in welding/underwater welding highly preferred
