The Grounds and Gardens Person is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Lyell McEwin and Queen Elizabeth Hospital grounds and gardens and will perform general maintenance works as directed by the Groundskeeper. All tasks completed should be done so in a timely and safe manner which complies with ISS, Client, and Building Industry specified work standards.
This Full Time role would require someone available Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 2.30pm.
Given the two sites are 30 minutes drive apart from each other, having your own transport is essential.
About the Role
What You'll Do
General works and maintenance programs e.g. Maintaining the gardens by undertaking general gardening duties such as:
* Weeding, mulching, planting, mowing, clipping and hedging plants, grounds cleaning and sweeping.
* Removal and replacement of plants
* Applying fertilisers and other chemical as per WHS requirements
* Watering plants, top soiling and removing raking leaves.
* Irrigation maintenance
* Waste and landfill duties as required and directed by management.
* Ensuring that works programs are maintained to the level as set per contract specifications.
* Ordering stock and maintain small machinery.
* Monday to Friday & some periodical work will be required outside of work hours on a rotational basis.
* Respond promptly to customer requests for grounds and gardens

* Demonstrate a passion for horticulture and maintaining high-quality landscapes
* Are reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively across varied sites
* Can support senior staff and contribute positively to a team environment
* Have an appreciation and understanding of the importance of Safe Work Practices and be willing to follow such requirements.
* Able to provide a clear DHS Working with Children Check.
* Able to provide a clear Australian National Police Check (issued in the last 12 months)
