Senior/ Security Technician
Reporting to General Manager, Australia
Overview
We are seeking a detailed and solution-oriented Senior/ Security Technician with expertise in structured cabling and electronic security systems. This role is critical to the successful deployment and maintenance of integrated security solutions in high-performance environments such as data centres and corporate offices. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining cabling infrastructure that supports access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and other networked security systems.
Key Responsibilities
Structured Cabling
* Install, terminate and test structured cables to support security systems.
* Interpret technical drawings and site layouts to plan cable routes and equipment placement.
* Ensure compliance with ACMA regulations and Australian standards for cabling installations.
* Perform preventative maintenance and minor upgrades to existing cabling infrastructure.
* Document cable schedules, test results, and as-built drawings for handover and compliance.
Electronic Security System Integration
* Support the installation and commissioning of integrated security systems including Access Control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
* Program and configure devices from platforms such as Gallagher, Lenel, Milestone, S2, and C-Cure.
* Perform preventative maintenance and minor upgrades to existing systems and cabling infrastructure.
* Assist in site surveys and contribute to pricing and scope documentation for new installations or expansions.
Project Coordination & Compliance
* Collaborate with project engineers and site managers to ensure timely and compliant delivery of cabling and security infrastructure.
* Follow all company protocols and ACMA regulations for cabling and equipment installation.
* Provide accurate feedback on technical progress, variation claims, and compliance to specifications.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, responding to feedback and resolving issues professionally.
Qualifications & Experience
Who You Are
You are a hands-on professional with a passion for technology and infrastructure. Whether you've earned a Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering—or built your expertise through solid industry experience—you bring at least three years of practical know-how in structured cabling or electronic security system installation.
You understand how integrated security systems work and how structured cabling supports them. You're organised, reliable, and know how to keep projects on track and on time. You're confident using Microsoft Office, and if you've got some knowledge of IT networking or CAD tools, that's a great bonus.
You communicate clearly, work well with others, and thrive in environments like data centres or corporate offices where precision and professionalism matter.
